Centro Cultural de San Carlos presents

XXIV IBIZA INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION 2021

The Competition will take place from 31st August to 5th September, 2021 at the Centro Cultural de San Carlos, Ibiza, Spain. All participants will present there on Tuesday, 31st August at 17’00 hours (5 p.m.) for the presentation.

Participants

All pianists can participate in the competition, without limitations of nationality or residence, born after the 1st January 1991, inclusive. Young pianists will be the ones born after the 1st January 2005, inclusive.

Required program

Pianists (45 minutes maximum time):

  • Prelude and fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach.
  • One sonata of free election.
  • One work of free election

 

Young pianists (35 minutes maximum time):

  • Prelude and fugue or invention to 3 voices or to 2 voices by Johann Sebastian Bach.
  • One sonata or sonatina of free election.
  • One work of free election

 

Inscription

The participants must complete the online application form before the 10th July 2021

You must attach next items:

  1. Passport Copy
  2. Payment receipt of inscription rights
  3. Passport photography or Artistic photography (only face. Photo archive JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF)
  4. A recommendation letter signed on 2021
  5. Short curriculum vitae (maximum 1 page)

    Recording and editing a mockup for a disc, by SOLFA Recordings.

  • Special Prize from the “Manuel de Falla” International Music Academy of Granada and Pipirrana Producciones SL (Andalusia, Spain):
    • Concert at the Festival “Tocando las Estrellas” (Touching the Stars) in Granada (Spain).
    • Tuition scholarship for a course of your choice at the “Manuel de Falla” International Music Academy of Granada (Spain).

 

The prizes will be indivisibles. The prize-giving party will happen on Sunday 5th September 2021, at 20’00 hours (8pm). All participants will receive a diploma of participation and the won prize, renouncing to the prize in case of no present oneself.

 

Registration Fee

324 euros. Young pianists and pianists living in Ibiza do not pay any fee. The inscription is free.

Includes:

  • Hotel accommodation at Beach Es Canar (from 31st August to 5th September, both inclusive, total 6 nights), on an all inclusive basis, (with breakfast, lunch and dinner free buffet, drinks included). Accompaniers for young pianists will pay the same amount (accompanists of pianists are NOT accepted).
  • Daily transfer with the Competition official bus between hotel and Centro Cultural de San Carlos and vice versa.
  • Study pianos.
  • Secretarial expenses and tuition.
  • Commemorative XXIV Competition book – playbill.
  • Diploma of participation.

Jury

Members from around the world will be invited based on their accomplishments in the field of music and practise music. Bases

Inscription will imply the acceptation of these bases. Organization and jury decisions will be final. The development of the Competition will have a protocol for action against COVID-19 and will take place according to the health measures at that time.

 

Biennial

Next XXV Ibiza International Piano Competition will take place on September 2023.
